Apparati Effimeri works in the field of Visual Design, experimenting the possibility to create new links between the past history of human vision and contemporary techniques and approaches to visual art. The project started in 2008 in Bologna with the focus on bringing up to date the idea of displays typical of the parties in the past, especially during the Baroque period. On track with this tradition, Apparati Effimeri works on the urban environment in a non-invasive way, giving life to the pre-existing shapes; architecture becomes a live screen of video projections as well as the subject itself. The focus of the collective is to change the perception of the environment. This projection technique produces highly spectacular effects which allow and open up infinite new creative applications. The use of 3D computer graphics outside a traditional application represents the great innovation within the research of Apparati Effimeri. We develop this technology in connection to other techniques which are, from the point of view of both information technology and stage design, highly innovative: mapping, interactivity and stereoscopy can be applied to buildings, objects and screens.
