Energy is the most important resource for humanity since we use energy in every action of our lives and because there is “concealed” energy in every product resulting from our activities. Today, most of energy is produced from fossil fuels (coal, petroleum, natural gas), a non-renewable resource, which causes great environmental and health problems for mankind. Even if many do not seem concerned and others are strong opponents, according to the European directives a transition process has already started, with a shift from waste towards a more efficient use of fossil fuels and the adoption of renewable energy sources. If properly managed and sustained by technology innovation, this transition will allow us to achieve a stronger economy, a healthier environment, more affordable and efficient services and, most of all, a better balanced and equal World.
